Kilian Jornet Wins His 11th Victory at the 2024 Zegama Trail Marathon

World-renowned trail runner Kilian Jornet claimed another historic victory at the 2024 Zegama-Aizkorri Trail Marathon, finishing with a time of 3 hours, 38 minutes, and 07 seconds.

This latest win marks his 11th victory out of 12 appearances at the race. The Zegama-Aizkorri Trail Marathon, held in the Basque region of Spain, begins in the village of Zegama and traverses the stunning Aizkorri-Aratz Natural Park. The race covers a total distance of 42.195 kilometers with a cumulative elevation gain of over 2700 meters. 
It is part of the Golden Trail Series and is known for its challenging terrain and extreme weather conditions, attracting the world's top trail runners each year. 

Reflecting on his victory, Jornet said, "I never imagined I would win here again this year. I wasn't feeling particularly light during the race due to some stomach issues, but my training gave me confidence." He added, "I kept pushing because I thought the other runners were closer. If I had known, I would have enjoyed the race a bit more." 

With this victory, Kilian Jornet has once again left a significant mark on the history of trail running. His remarkable performances and relentless spirit continue to inspire trail running enthusiasts worldwide.
