On July 26, 2024, the opening ceremony of the 2024 Summer Olympics was spectacularly held in Paris, France. This opening ceremony departed from traditional settings, showcasing the charm of Paris with its beautiful scenery and historical landmarks to the entire world.

An Innovative Opening Ceremony on the Seine
The ceremony centered around the Seine River. For the first time in Olympic history, the opening ceremony was held outdoors rather than in a stadium. It took place in the heart of Paris instead of the Stade de France, capturing the attention of global viewers with stunning performances set against the iconic architecture surrounding the Seine.

Historic Parade and Cultural Performances
The opening ceremony began with a parade of 85 boats carrying 6,800 athletes along the Seine to the Trocadéro opposite the Eiffel Tower. Despite the pouring rain, the athletes enjoyed the parade, and performances set against Paris’s landmarks received great acclaim from the audience.

Performances Emphasizing Diversity and Inclusivity
The ceremony featured performances that reflected France’s rich culture and history. Athletes from around the world marched through various iconic Paris locations, delivering messages of diversity and inclusivity. True to its reputation as a land of art, famous French artists and musicians participated, offering an unforgettable experience to the spectators.

This Olympics will feature more than 10,500 athletes competing in 32 sports, with the event concluding on August 11.
